    • Proceeds from the event support the BPW's efforts to raise money to support the UNCP scholarship fund.

  • March 27, 2012 - Graduate Research Poster and Information Sessions
    • Hosted by the School of Graduate Studies
    • 5:30 - 7 p.m.
    • University Center Annex
    • This session will showcase the scholarship of graduate students. It also will be an opportune time for interested individuals to meet with program directors to learn about the seventeen graduate programs offered at UNCP.
  • April 19, 2012 - 125th Anniversary Celebration Powwow
    • Hosted by the Native American Resource Center, the American Indian Science and Engineering Society and the Native American Student Organization

    • The American Indian Studies Department of UNCP and the UNCP
      Bookstore gladly present various local authors and their books.
      Authors will present a short program about their books. Books will be sold by the UNCP Bookstore during the event.
    • Featured authors: Joseph Oxendine, Bruce Barton, Gloria Barton Gates, Arvis Boughman, Malinda Maynor Lowery and Stan Knick.
    • Featured Artists: Mardella Lowery - beadwork, Jordan Mcgirt - graphic art, Timmie Locklear - gourd and tile artist, Frankie Harris - wood carver, and Gloria Lowery - pine needle baskets.

  • February 27, 2013 - 24th Annual National African American Read-In:  A Literary Campaign
    • Keynote speaker Dr. Christopher McKenna, a senior Fellow in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at UNC-Chapel Hill, will speak on "Tri-Racial Moviegoing," focusing on Robeson County during the Jim Crow-era. The event is sponsored by UNCP’s Friends of the Library, Office of Multicultural and Minority Affairs, and School of Education.

  • March 4-8, 2013: Heritage T-shirts on Sale
    • Limited quantities of the Heritage T-shirts will be on sale this week for $9.95 (plus tax) at the UNCP Bookstore. Heritage T-shirts are seven shirts with one of the seven different names of the school on the front and the 125th logo with all seven names on the back.

  • March 19, 2013 - Fundraising Dinner to Celebrate the History of Pembroke Magazine, UNCP's International Literary Magazine since 1969
    • The event features Lumberton native and best selling author Jill McCorkle and poet and former editor of Pembroke Magazine Shelby Stephenson
    • Jill McCorkle will read from novel, Life After Life at 5 p.m., Dial 123 (AV Theatre) with a book signing to follow.
    • Dinner: 6:30 p.m., Chancellor’s Dining Room (admission required)
    • Tickets for Dinner: $40 per person. RSVP by March 13 to Tina Emanuel (tina.emanuel@uncp.edu). Space is limited.

  • March 19, 2013 - Native American Speaker Series
    • Dr. Kehente Horn-Miller, a scholar and member of the Kahnawà:ke Tribe. Dr. Horn-Miller holds a Ph.D. in the humanities from Concordia University. She is currently the coordinator for the Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission, which oversees the Community Decision Making Process, the process used by the Kahnawà:ke community to make its laws.

    • Event features a 3-mile run/walk from the center of the current campus to the site of the original campus and back along with a 1-mile run/walk through a portion of Hawk Walk trail.

    • The event is the premier annual fundraiser for the Braves Club which has grown from a simple reserves raffle into a full event complete with a catered dinner, live and silent auction, and a chance to meet our engaging student-athletes and coaches.

  • April 28, 2013 - UNCP Concert Band presents “Concerto Competition Winners”
    • Composer James Hosay’s “Sing, Pray, Shout:  A Lumbee River Revival,” commissioned for UNCP’s 125th celebration, will be premiered by the UNCP Concert Band. The work highlights the influences of gospel music in the area and the importance of Lumbee River. Admission is free and open to the public.
