Wes Carter's success in the classroom is equally matched by his success on the football field. Wes was honored with the Most Outstanding Male Student-Athlete Award, given by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), during the University athletic awards banquet, which took place this past April in the University Center Annex. Wes was also recognized as the football team's most valuable offensive player for spring.

Last fall, Wes was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Football Team. Only the nation's top student athletes, those who excel in both the classroom and on the playing field, are named to the team.

Wes is a junior in the Department of Biology, where he is studying for admission to medical school. He is interested in orthopedic surgery.
