The SI Program targets traditionally diffcult academic subjects and provides regularly scheduled, out-of-class, peer facilitated review sessions. Upper-level students (SI Leaders) that achieved a high grade in the course lead these review sessions utilizing collaborative learning techniques. In their role as a model student, the SI Leader also attends regular class sessions, takes notes, and reads all assigned materials. SI sessions will be held at least 3 times a week.
(1) to reduce rates of attrition within targeted historically difficult courses
(2) to improve student grades in targeted historically difficult courses
(3) to increase the graduation rates of students
