Dr. Emily Long, Associate Professor
Dr. Long has taught a variety of courses within the School of Education since arriving in 2003. She also serves on a variety of committees at UNC Pembroke.
After being awarded a National Merit Scholarship, Dr. Long started her college experience at the University of Maryland majoring in elementary education with a concentration in biological sciences. After marrying, the Long family lived in six states. Dr. Long's daughter currently lives with her husband and very clever chocolate Lab in Mukilteo, Washington. Her son lives in Jackson, Tennessee, with his wife, a Weimaraner, and a Boxer. Dr. Long lives with her husband of over 42 years and Ralf, a pound puppy. This professor enjoys the comfortable company of friends,wearing sox she knits herself, reading, cooking, and not turning on her cell phone.
