A presentation of outstanding videos from the virtual world Second Life for the
12th annual UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Conference, April 12-14, 2011

Machinima is the art of making a real movie in a virtual world. These video productions have been shot in the 3D virtual reality world Second Life and produced with real life tools and techniques.

To play a video in Second Life, you must own or control the land parcel where you want to show it. Rez an object (10 x 7.5 x 0.01 or other size of your choice) to be the movie screen and apply the default media texture from inventory. Then go to: menubar>World>Place Profile>About Land>Media>Type (movie/MP4) and Set (enter URL from here) and Replace Texture (select default media texture from inventory).

Here are some of the very best machinimas produced by Second Life artists:
Most in this set are small file size, high quality, 480x360 pixels.
