Sociological Definition of Religion*

Religion --  "... a system of beliefs and practice by means of which a group of people struggle with the ultimate problems of human life."

Questions:

1. What is the "ultimate problem" humans face?

2. What is the implication that defines (or limits) religion as a group activity?

3. What unexpected groups comply with this definition?
