SCHOLARSHIP

My research interest is focused on utilizing microbiological and molecular techniques in studying fundamental processes in bacteria and other microorganisms including DNA repair and mutation, pathogenicity and its role in public health, survey of bacterial populations for antibiotic resistance genes and genetic improvement for biotechnological purposes.  I have presented papers on pedagogy in teaching microbiology to non –majors, large classes and heterogeneous studentry. I am collaborating with business faculty to conduct research on genetically modified foods and green marketing.

My research publications appear in the Journal of Genetics, Philippine Journal of Biotechnology and International Journal of Business, Marketing and Decision Sciences, and in Conference Proceedings of the American Society for Microbiology, Philippine Society for Microbiology, Asia-Pacific Biotechnology Congress, Southeast Decision Sciences Institute and the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines.
