I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses including: Microbiology, Genetics, Advanced Microbiology, Microbial Physiology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Virology, Frontiers in Molecular Biology, and Independent Research. I have been exposed to and have experienced a diverse variety of teaching atmospheres and student backgrounds in Asia, Europe and the USA. I have evolved a philosophy in teaching that is based on the following guidelines:
I always remind myself that college is a time of personal growth and intellectual development, and that it is my major role to help students realize their potential. While in some respects, this is quite difficult to implement, as each student and each situation will be different and must be approached differently, in essence it is the simplest: see the value and strengths in each student and help them see their own self-worth.Watching students rise to their potential is awe-inspiring.
I am a member of the Graduate Facuty and the Honors College Faculty.
