Unit 3: Selecting Resources

Introduction:
In this unit, you will learn to recognize various types of resources that you can use to conduct research: reference sources, books, newspapers, magazines, scholarly journals, and websites. You will also learn to distinguish between popular and scholarly periodicals and between primary and secondary sources.

Before you begin searching for resources, take a moment to consider the nature of your assignment and the types of information you need. Each resource type presents particular benefits and limitations.
