A large delegation
from North China Institute of Science and Technology visited UNC Pembroke
in late September.
The group, headed
by President and Director Gengyu Yang, spent three days at UNCP discussing
exchange programs for students and professors.
"We are particularly
interested in the Master's of Public Management Program," said
Dr. Yang. "Because America is a developed country and China is
a developing country, we hope to learn advanced administration of business
and public management."
The Chinese university
is also seeking to import certificate programs in information technology,
particularly in the area of e-commerce, which UNCP plans to offer in
partnership with Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, N.C.
UNCP, which launched
its Master's of Public Management program at the Chinese University
of Mining and Technology in Xuzhou earlier this fall, is seeking additional
partners abroad. President Yang is an old friend.
