Miss UNCP Jamee Hunt is 1st runner-up in Miss N.C. Pageant

After winning the Miss Talent Award in preliminary competitions, Miss UNCP Jamee Hunt finished first runner-up in the Miss North Carolina Pageant in Raleigh, N.C., on June 21.

Hunt also won the People’s Choice Award for Swimwear and a $3,500 scholarship in the weeklong competition.

Erica Dellinger, a 2007 UNCP graduate and Miss Lumbee 2005, was a top 10 finalist. Dellinger, who was Miss Forsyth County, won the Miss Swimsuit Award.

Jessica Jacobs, Miss North Carolina 2007 with family roots in Robeson County, was awarded the Old North Carolina Award for her work on child literacy.

From Rowland, N.C., Hunt is a Health Promotions major.

Amanda Lauren Watson of Raleigh was crowned Miss North Carolina at Raleigh's Memorial Auditorium Saturday evening.

Three former UNCP students have earned the title of Miss North Carolina: Francesca Adler in 1984, Lorna McNeill in 2000 and Rebekah Revels in 2002.
