A free wash weekend was held Oct. 27-30 for students living in the dorms and the University Village compliments of the Mac-Gray Corporation.

In conjunction with the free wash weekend, Laundry Lotto educated students on more efficient ways to clean their clothes.
There was a drawing of Laundry Lotto tickets with Regina Fairley winning a $285 jackpot and a $40 laundry kit, Jessica Painter a $40 laundry kit and Odell Boger winning a $20 Food Lion gift card.

Door prizes were awarded to those who attended the educational event.

The event was one of many events hosted by University Housing in an effort to encourage and promote community service among the students who live in the dorms.

Recently, the residents and staff of North Hall held a Talent Show in an effort to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Pembroke.

The event raised $170 for the club which was used for the club’s annual “Scream Fest” event held Oct. 28.
