Campus police handle fights, robbery and more

The Department of Police and Public Safety dealt with a variety of incidents from Sept. 20-29, ranging from breaking and entering, to larceny, to attempted suicide.
Sept. 21 began with the Department of Police and Public Safety being called about a fight. Two students were arrested and charged on campus level for affray.
Breaking and entering
There was also a breaking entering and larceny in lot 19. A parking permit and CD player were stolen out of the car.
Department of Police and Public Safety said everyone should remember to make sure to lock all doors and don’t leave valuable items in vehicles.
On Sept. 27, the Department of Police and Public Safety was called by the Sheriffs Department for mutual aid about a suicide attempt at Courtyard Apartments.
UNCP offers resources for students who feel that they need counseling or are contemplating suicide.

Vending machine robbery
On Sept. 27 the vending machine in West Hall was broken into and all of the sodas were taken.
All of the money was taken out of the machine.
On Sept. 28 one person was charged with public display of alcohol in lot 19 and received a campus level charge. Open containers of alcohol cannot be displayed in public.
On Sept. 29 four people were charged with underage consumption of alcohol in parking lot 15.
All four people were charged on campus level.
