UNCP volleyball won a five set Peach Belt Conference thriller on Sept. 28 against Augusta State University.
The Lady Braves (12-9, 2-0 PBC) got their second conference victory despite losing by two points in the game’s first match.
UNCP was victorious in match two, 32-30, with the Lady Braves’ Jessica Hartley serving up the winning ace.
The crowd cheered at the conclusion of match three after UNCP Lizzie O’Connor registered three consecutive points giving the Lady Braves a 34-32 win.
O’Connor and Hartley spearheaded the UNCP offense throughout the contest with Augusta State carrying the Lady Braves to victory.
UNCP head coach Jeff Billington was pleased with the win and was happy his team pulled out a victory against an opponent like Augusta State.
Billington said close games against conference opponents builds character.
