Lady Braves cruise to win over Flagler

The UNCP women's basketball team got back on the winning track on Feb. 5, defeating Flagler 79-59 inside the English E. Jones Center to end a two-game losing streak.

The Lady Braves had four players finish in double figures, with senior Talena Faison leading all players as she finished with a gamehigh 18 points, while she also grabbed six rebounds in the contest.

Senior Briana Stanton tallied 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, passed out three assists and had two steals for UNCP as well.

Fellow senior DayDay Ray finished with 14 points of her own and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds, while also having five assists and three steals.

Domonique Washington rounded out the UNCP double- digit scorers, as the junior totaled 13 points in the win.

The Lady Braves tallied 32 of their points from inside the paint in the game, while also getting 16 points off turnovers and 12 points off fast break opportunities.

The game featured three tie scores and 11 lead changes, but the Lady Braves took the lead for good with just under 10 minutes to play.
