The Lady Braves broke their 27-set winless streak against Peach Belt Conference foe Augusta State on Oct. 12, but were unable to secure the match as they fell 3-1 at home.

Freshman Ashtin Truesdale had a solid match as she led the Black and Gold with a team-high 10 kills, seven service aces and 12 digs.

In the first set, both teams played very tight to keep the score close. With the score favoring UNCP by one at 8-7, Truesdale recorded six points in a row as she recorded a kill, four aces and an assist for a Marissa Baker kill to stretch the lead to 14-7.

To close out the set, the score was never closer than five as the Black and Gold cruised to take the set 25-18.

After Truesdale opened the set with three aces to give the Black and Gold a 3-0; UNCP was able to hold onto a 13-10 lead midway in the second set.

The visitors then rattled off 10 straight points to go ahead by seven late in the set. Augusta State was able to hold off the home team to take the second set 25-17.

The Jaguars were able to use short runs to take small leads throughout the third set.

Augusta State used a 5-1 run during the middle of the set to take a 17-11 lead and that proved to be enough to hold off the Lady Braves as they dropped the set 25-15.

After knotting the score at three, the visitors made quick work of the Lady Braves.

For the rest of the fourth set, the Black and Gold only posted seven more points as the Jaguars finished off the match by a 25-10 score.

Baker added nine kills and a team-high 15 digs as libero for the Black and Gold, and senior Ashlyn Rebok added a game-high 36 assists.

For the visitors, Jenna Keeler and Kristen Koch totaled 28 of the 60 kills for the team and Andria Tagarelli recorded a game-high 26 digs.
