Track competes in Weems Baskins

The UNCP men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Weems Baskins Invitational on March 26, with several runners from both squads turning in great performances.

On the men's side, senior Maurice Eubanks grabbed the top spot in the 100-meter dash with his time of 10.55 seconds before he finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.35 seconds.

Fellow senior Karlos Jordan also ran in both races, finishing eighth with a time of 10.82 seconds in the 100-meter dash before turning in a 21.87-second time in the 200-meter race.

For the women, sophomore Woodi Jones finished third in the 5000-meter run while also posting a new personal best time of 18:36.01.

Senior Katherine Davis continued her strong season, finishing fourth overall in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.08-meters The Lady Braves' 4x100-meter team of Chantalle Williams, Kye Tennyson, Olivia Mack and Jessica McDowell set a season best mark with their time of 49.78 seconds to finish 13th overall.

Mack also ran in the 100-meter dash, turning in a time of 13.08 seconds, while Janay Moore had a 2:27.25 time in the 800- meter run.
