Promotion and Tenure Review Committee

Description

The Chancellor at intervals of not more than five years beginning in 2003 will initiate a review of the University Promotion and Tenure policies. At this time an ad hoc Promotion and Tenure Review Committee will be formed to carry out the review. The composition of the committee will be as follows: the chair of the Faculty Senate will serve as an ex-officio member of the committee, the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will serve as an ex-officio member, the University General Counsel or designee will serve as an ex-officio member, the Provost and Senate Chair will appoint five full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty, one from each of the University's Divisions. If possible, at least one of these committee members should have served one term on the University Promotion and Tenure Committee. Upon completion of the review, the committee will submit a report to the Chancellor.
